Overheard in Kindergarten

Well, friends. Its that time again. Time to revel in some of those "darndest things" that kids say. To start off with, I have one that I overheard while I was taking my munchkins to their buses. It was not actually a kinder that said it, but its still good.

  • Two six grade boys. First boy: "Well, do you like her?" Second boy: "No! She doesn't even know what an INTEGER is."

  • Today we were talking about our letter of the week Ss, and Ian raises his hand. "Teacher, does R-4-Tay-5 start with S? Cause I have one I could bring." I was racking my brains trying to figure out what that word was. "Um, R-4-Tay-5 sounds like it starts with R." Then it hit me what he was trying to say, "Ian, do you mean your little Star Wars robot guy?" Yep, that was it: R2D2.

  • Last week after our large group literacy lesson JT came up to me with his shoelaces all tied together. "Teacher, can you fix this? My dad did it this morning." "Your dad tied your shoe laces together this morning?" "Yep. He always does." "Well, JT when you came to school today your shoe laces weren't like this. So, I'm pretty sure it wasn't your dad that did it." "Oh! I lied! Oh no! I shouldn't have lied! I shouldn't have lied! I'm so sorry I lied! Oh gosh! I just knew I shouldn't have lied!"

oh man, those kids are so ridiculous. How do you keep from just cracking up all the time?
Max tried to bring home two big pocketfulls of rocks from school yesterday. He cried when we put them back in the little playground area and said "but they're my homework! I HAVE to do my homework!!"

(If he will be possible add the CresceNet(www.provedorcrescenet.com) in your blogroll I thankful, bye friend).

If anyone was wondering what the spam was offering, it was about getting dial-up internet service from Brazil! What a steal! Since I used to speak that language, I thought I might try to repeat this paragraph below:

se alguem ligou sobre o que o spam falou, estava falando sobre uma firma do brasil de internet acessado pelo telefone.

Wow, after about 5 minutes, I remembered how to say something in portuguese!!

OK Droopsie, way funny! R2D2 and the integer were my favorite! I get the biggest laugh out of the comments you leave on my blog. They are dang funny. No wonder Dawnell likes you so much, I bet you guys had a blast on your mission. So I asked Darren to take pictures and fill me in on every little detail of the wedding. Well, he forgot the camera and when I asked him how it went he said, "fine... it was really nice." Ok, so much for details! I should get the low down from you. That's great your little maggie passed the droopy test. =) Take Care!

Wow. These got me laughing pretty hard. I miss teaching. I had 17 year olds of course, but you still hear the funniest things, even with the more "mature" ones. Ha!

That classroom is your natural element. Keep a journal of all that stuff and then publish it. Cool!!
