A Child's Prayer

Today Maggie was in time-out a total of 5 times. Once for hitting Coleman. Once for kicking Will. Once for drawing on the toilet with crayon. Yes--the toilet. Once for throwing her lunch on the floor. And once for kicking Will. Again.

But the good news is: the teaching may have sunk in. Because tonight her prayer consisted of these words, "Heavenly Father, Please bless and I not hit Will-man and I not hit Will-man and I NOT hit Will-man, Amen."

Oh, please bless!

Good for her. I think children's prayers are some of the most amazing things we experience as parents.

Sweet, I would not call it. But I am thinking of adapting that earnest style tonight when I go over all the Will-mans I should not be kicking, even though I really want to.
