When my mother was younger, her little brother Garth made red and green jell-o for Christmas Eve dinner. Plain jell-o without fruit or anything fancy (against Utah tradition). The whole meal my grandpa raved and raved and raved about that jell-o, exclaiming repeatedly, "Who made that jell-o!?"
My mother and aunt were puzzled--they'd made jell-o lots of times, what was the big deal? But Garth felt like a rock star.
And thus began our family tradition of having the youngest or newest family member make plain red and green jell-o that the family makes a fuss over all Christmas Eve.
This year it was Maggie's turn. She made it wearing nothing but her diaper--in a very bad mood. But boy was it special. Well done Maggie!!

those little jello molds are so adorable, where did you get them?
Same question as the fellers. Where did you get the molds?
Maggie looks like she's saying, "I made that jell-o! Go cougars!" :D
I have the same question as well. Where did you get the darling molds???
I think Maggie was saying...how about them Utes :)
I borrowed the molds from my mother. Aren't they cute? I bet if you kept your eyes peeled at D.I. or an old person's yard sale you could snag some.
What a great idea!! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some of those babies.
that is the best story, accompanied by the best photo, EVER.
What a fun tradition. And you just CAN'T BEAT that picture!
It looks like Maggie was singing some Pavarati while cooking up some fantastic Itallian Jell-o. I love it!
