Since I was up half (okay maybe it was only a third) of the night lactating I gave myself a little permission to sleep in. Only problem was, Dan gave himself the same permission. If only Maggie had encouraged herself to get a few extra Zzz's... Instead she did this:
Yes, she hoisted herself onto the dresser, cleared it off, emptied out the top drawer, and sat in it. Good thing it's a sturdy D.I. dresser we found ourselves. Dan got up, took pictures of our daughter's newfound talent for "cleaning", threw her into bed with us, and we all zonked for another 15 minutes. God bless sleep!
p.s. She was wearing pants when I put her to bed last night. I promise. She must have lost them in the climb.

I love the way she thinks!
That is hilarious! Maggie is a lot like Laira was and the same age as when Bailey was born. Its a tough time.
like my mom always says. Its lucky they are so cute!
that happened to us a few times--just absolute mayhem while we were asleep. I always wake up now like "WHERE'S MAX!!?!"
He's gotten a lot better the last year though.
I want to see more twin pictures some time soon!
What a cutie! Hailey's favorite thing is to empty out her dresser drawers. Several. Times. A. Day. I stopped worrying about cleaning it up every time, and I just let her room look like a bomb has gone off. As long as they are having fun, right?!
I have some of the danged cutest pictures of my punks doing that and then falling asleep. Why did I buy them beds or dressers....oh I know....I'm supposed to fold their clothes on their beds and put their blankies in their dressers....duh!
So glad things are back to normal at your house. Maggie is just doing her best to reassure you of that I think. What a character-she will teach her little bros a thing or two! I remember the days of heart monitors etc. with my little preemie, only you have it x2. Hang in there my friend-it will be over before you know it.
when keenan was that age - he emptied out his HUGE toy bin and climbed in. Then he cried and cried cuz he was "stuck" and couldn't climb out. I asked him what he was doing. he answered, "queening the toybox". i got pictures of that one too. i can tell you now, looking back, it was a sign of creativity.
Cant' wait to see what she does next.
Kids are hilarious!!! What can you do but just smile and clean up the ingenious little mess.
Get used to the mischief! It's called exploring. Kathryn and Carter make all kinds of messes while I am catching my last Zzzz (with the baby latched on). Whole boxes of cereal dumped out on the floor ("I was looking for the prize") Flower pots dumped out ("I was trying to water them.") Be grateful that she was entertained long enough for you to stay asleep a little longer. I"m thinking about you!
haha...how do they do stuff like that? Makes you laugh after the fact! haha
Oh, yes. Char was one of these. Keeping her alive will be a dance.
