This is How We'll Roll

I've never had 3 kids under 2, but I'd imagine that when I do I'm gonna need me a stroller. It was hour long walks with Maggie that finally got the baby weight off last summer, so I plan on repeating the procedure this fall. I'm still in the research stage, but its actually really fun to look at the ways that people get around with 3 children. Here are the top picks if money were no object:

The only thing this stroller is missing is the flashing "CAUTION: WIDE LOAD" sign. Not a practical option if you're planning on not hitting mailboxes along the sidewalk or getting in any store doors.

This one is probably my favorite at the moment, there is a platform on the back for Mags to stand on as well as a little seat with a strap so I could possibly buckle her in if she'll sit still that long.
If money were no object, I'd buy me this one. Its awesome. Not only does Julia Roberts tote her twins and one singleton around this way, but I love that little birds nest perch that Maggie would chill in. I think she'd get a kick out of leading the way. Then when Maggie thinks she's too cool for a stroller, it easily transforms into just a double. Sweet.
And then there is the last option: three peas in a pod, 3 kids all in a line. Reminds me of a missile. But money wise this type of stroller is the most affordable. Its probably the most practical as well, as far as getting in and out of doors and keeping Maggie from breaking loose and running away.

So there you have it: a triple stroller tutorial. Now when you have twins and an 18 month old you can think back on this and remember that you want exactly what Julia Roberts has. Or maybe by then I'll be ready to sell you mine.

If it were my choice, I wouldn't get the side by side ones. I had a tandem and a double wide, and we only used the tandem. I hated the double wide, it was impossible to go any where indoors and it was always going off the side walk because it was so wide. I had a hard time steering it as well. So that's my 2 cents, hope it helps you make a decision.

Wow...looks pretty exciting...especially the CAUTION: WIDE LOAD one! Good luck - you'll have to let us know which one you choose! :)

yikes. We have a lady on the other side of the block with TRIPLETS!! (AAAUGHGHG) and she uses that triple wide one to take walks, so I know it's doable. But the julia roberts one is coolest by far. hands down. I bet it comes with a julia roberts sized price tag though, huh?
I'll watch craig's list out here....you watch yours and then we'll see if we can recruit some other people--maybe in New York or something where the hipster moms live.

Hey Meg, thought I would offer you my 2 cents on strollers. I have a stroller fetish (having owned 10) I have the Joovy Sit and Stand Double not triple and love it. The weight getting it in and out of the car is a pain but once walking around the carnival, mall, what have you it's the easiest. I have also used the PEG PEREGO double tandem and PEG double side by side. Love the tandem, but as the girls got older it was hard to lift them in and out of the seat. Side by Side was fantastic but the steering is hard and doesn't do well on outdoor terrain. Also door ways are tricky.
Does Peg make the triple stroller with the new "steering wheel" handle? That looks like a nice feature considering when I went to turn I would have to pick it up and move. That's just my thoughts, you have to find what works best for you but maybe it will help. GOOD LUCK, I have sympathy for you!

Wow. Thanks everybody for your input. I'm glad that you've all seen or used these kinds of strollers because I really haven't! I'll let you know how it goes.

Good luck on finding a stroller that will work. My thoughts on the first one is that it is too wide. We had a side-by-side double stroller and it was hard to get into stores, so you wont be able to get a three wide one through.

I would totally go for the one with the spot for Maggie to stand or sit behind. She wont be in a stroller for very long, and she will love being close to you. Good luck!
