I am not a gifted singer. But that doesn't stop me from doing it. My best singing number is a medley I've put together using the theme songs from the PBS kids shows Maggie loves. I start with Clifford, then Arthur, Martha Speaks, and finally I move into a rousing rendition of Dinosaur Train.
Probably the thing that makes my singing so unusual is the fact that I like to really test the limits of my range and volume. Oh, and there's also the dancing and arm movements. Those are not to be missed. That is my attitude about all of it, actually. When I am at the height of my musical entertaining, it is something to behold.
So, you can imagine my shock when the other day, just as I had launched into Arthur ("So, I say Hey! What a wonderful kinda day! Where we can learn to work and play! And get along with each other!") Dan asked me to stop. He said something about a headache.
I can't imagine my singing would have done that to him....

Oy. That really would have collapsed my little balloon. Next time he does that, simply break into your magic act. You were really, really good at that. Maybe you could get Cam to second??
Jo! Your one beauty!
LAUGHING!
I was just starting to sing along to the Arthur song...and then I read the "headache" comment.
funny.
Ha! I still remember the American Idol video you made with Beth, Joel and Cam - classic. Perhaps you should show that to him to remind him of your great talent in singing... :)
I think you should record it and put it on your blog so we can all see :)
I've received similar complaints after busting out with some Disney songs, or something from an old-time musical. I'm guessing it's the lyrical content, and not the quality of your voice, that caused the headache. :)
My husband actually does that (but singing only, no dancing or arm movements), and it impresses me to death because he's never home when those shows are on!!
(I was singing along with you in my head during that last paragraph...)
so glad i am not the only one! tee hee... my kids tell me now that i am too old to be making "moves" like that! hahaha!
Mine always started off with Maggie and the Ferocious Beast in Nowhere Land...in Nowhere Land! lol.
That is awesome!! Im glad to know im not the only one. Of course yours would be more entertaining to watch, you should video tape yourself so we can see your awesome talents!!
Be right back...I'm gonna pee my pants from laughing so hard. Okay! I'm back.
I was thinking just what Tiffany said! *chanting* "Video! Video! Video!..."
