I Love My Mother Because.... by Sarah Olsen

I love my mother because.....
  • She is a woman of infinite patience and love. I can barely remember a time when she raised her voice at me even though I said classic lines like: "I'm running away", "You are so mean", " You NEVER let me do anything!"
  • She is constantly thinking of others. I know that I can count on her to pray for me and my family each day.
  • She is just about the cutest, little British woman I have ever seen. ( And I've seen a lot)
  • She says things to me like: "Well isn't that marvelous!', "That really is the bees knees", and "Oh fish cakes!"
  • She joined {the Church} even though all her family and friends were against it. She attended a small branch and went faithfully every week with her husband and children. She went against, what was considered her family traditions to give our family the greatest blessing we have...the blessing of the gospel.
  • She laughs at most of my jokes. :)
  • She had six children without pain medication! (that right there merits the highest place in heaven)
  • She always says I have lovely children even if they don't always act very 'lovely'.
  • She fed me marmite toast faithfully when I was young, so that I could grow up and become addicted to that wonderful spread. Thank you Mum!
What else can I say? My Mum is just the bees knees to me!

I met Sarah in ninth grade and I loved everything about her. She was brilliant, polite, hilarious, and adorable. Later, when I met her mum I realized why Sarah was so amazing--she was just like her mother (sadly, minus the accent)! Though I don't share her love of marmite, I do share the love Sarah has for her mother--good luck finding a better person anywhere. Happy Mother's Day, Sarah and Sister Owen!

How cool! That was fun to read. :) It's kind of interesting to picture these ladies as I read about them.

Love reading these.

p.s. Hi Sarah! I remember your mom and your sister Sian being so super rad. Sian was my mom's visiting teaching companion years ago.

Glad to hear you're doing well!
