You Better Believe I Ate Them

There's something about stale marshmallows that really gets me in a good way. Give me a hard little sugar cylinder and I will chew it until there is no tomorrow. I love me some {stale peeps} that have been sitting out for at least a week.

So, you can imagine my excitement when, upon filling my children's Easter Baskets last night, I discovered 5 purple crunchy Peeps still hidden inside plastic eggs from last year. I bit into one and nearly broke a tooth. But I didn't break a tooth, so I kept eating.

Dang they were delicious. I just might hide some more for myself for next year.

Wow. I could never do that. I hope you're hitting all those "after-Easter" sales today, when all the candy goes 1/2 price (or whatever) so you will be ready for next year! (I'm SERIOUS!!)

laughing. I LOVE a stale marshmallow...it's the only way to go with mallows. Peeps though, I draw the line at peeps.
HAPPY EASTER~

P.S. Only because I don't like marshmallows or Peeps. I would totally eat year-old candy, and I once ate a See's Candy chocolate that fell on my garage floor. And I'd do it again.

I'm with you - stale peeps are the best. The other day at the store I saw sugar-free peeps. What's the point?

When I was a kid we found a box (yes a box) of Campfire marshmallows in my Grandma Farr's cupboard--up top and way in the back. In those days marshmallows came boxed up, kinda like an egg carton with one marshmallow in it's own compartment. They were rock hard and grandma thought we were nuts when we asked if we could have them. Man were they good!

Here is how sad a case I am: in trying to get the jeans to have breathing space, I have been very good. When I bought myself a box of green peeps, I forgot to open the package before Easter, the day I was going to eat some sugar. When Easter came, the peeps were still fresh - BUT I ATE THEM ANYWAY>

opportunity missed

Yes the stale peeps are the best--in fact there are some on my counter right now staleifying. But a year of stale-ing? They must have been amazing. I'm glad you didn't break your teeth though. Kris wouldn't have been pleased with you.

I bet I say this every year. But my brother Karl is just like you. Every Easter, he would get peeps. Put them away. And eat them the NEXT EASTER. I bet he still does it. And he's a nuclear physicist, so . . .
