Gimme A Break!

The past two days my kids have been out. of. control. They've been throwing everything, crying, screaming, whining, mess making. Okay, they've always done those things, but lately they are doing them in larger doses. I am about to go insane. Actually, I think I have gone insane. Dan came home tonight to find me pounding my fists on the wall saying "I just can't keep anything clean! I just can't keep anything clean!"

Luckily, though, Dan recognized that I needed a break, so we got a babysitter and went on a date to the temple. 3 quiet hours and one milkshake later I feel like a new woman.

I still can't keep anything clean, but I'm a new woman who's trying not to care about keeping things clean; it's just hard when everywhere you step there are pieces of mac n cheese).

Milkshakes always have a calming affect on the soul. They're like the pot of the ice cream world.

I remember the day that I looked at my orderly house, said goodbye to it and went to have a baby. I remember another day, looking down at the den floor, strewn all over with toys, and made a deliberate shift in my head, letting go of order.

I have two puppy kennels I'll loan you.

I'm glad you got out. I am convinced that's the best solution to this stage of life. Just get away when you can. It's the only way to clear your mind. And milkshakes can't hurt, either.

What a guy to recognize a need, and take care of it with spirituality and milkshakes. I'm glad you got to go out.

I am insane too!!! I told Stew yesterday that I feel like I am abused - or some sort of slave. All day long I am yelled at, whined at, and I am cleaning and feeding almost nonstop with little to no effect! I best get myself a temple night too. :)

Plot your revenge now. When they grow up and leave home, go to their houses and put peanut butter finger prints on the walls. Scream. Leave your toys around. Throw a tantrum. That'll show 'em.

Megan we are so in the same boat on this one. Even down to the mac and cheese (all over the carpet from lunch today). I told Ammon yesterday that the messy house and the wild kids made the walls feel like they were closing in on me!!! He took the kids for an hour and a half and it was perfect. It's amazing what a couple hours of quiet will do. A sugar rush doesn't hurt either. Keep up the great work! Thanks for the temple reminder too.
