Curses!

My parents are both lovely people. My dad is quite the handsome guy--when he came to Hungary to tour the country with me at the completion of my mission, he had Hungarian women throwing themselves at him. And Mom! She's gorgeous. She used to model for the art department in college.

Bless their hearts, though. Every couple of years, the acne gods will send them each a gift. Mom will sprout a zit on her chin, and Dad will get one on the end of his nose. It's a curse. A curse that has been passed on to me. This week I've been lucky enough to be sporting a gigantic chin zit. And this morning I found myself to be the owner of a nose zit as well. Lucky me--I get the finest trait from each of my parents.

Maggie, though, has been very concerned about it. This morning she must have asked me 10 times if I had an ouchie while she gently patted my chin. When I put the boys down for a nap this afternoon, she led me to my room and said "You go sleep over here, this side your face (while she stroked the opposite side of my face from the chin zit). And when you wake up, all better!"

I took her up on that offer, and took 15 minutes to myself while she was playing Barbie's in the other room. Sadly though, when I emerged from my rest. It was not all better. In fact, the nose zit looked a little plumper. And I had so hoped Maggie's plan would work...

Huh-uh. I would have seen it. I LOOK for blemishes in wonderful people, so I don't feel so shabby my own self. Didn't see a thing. Much disappointment.

I'm, well, my age (retired) and I'm still Zit City. However – explain this – since I moved to Provo, my face has mostly cleared up. I haven't changed my skin care routine, which can best be described as haphazard anyway, nor my diet, but there you are. Go figure. I still get little bumpy things now and then but not the volcanos I used to sport. Another reason to love living in Provo.

Maggie is so cute! (Try Clean and Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. It goes on clear, so I douse the thing before bed and it's always much better the next day. And then I keep it lathered up 'til it's gone.) Dumb acne gods.

I hear you when it comes to zits. Holy cow I am the queen. You'd think being 28 years old I'd be done with puberty! Apparently not!!! Loves!

I hear ya! I hear ya loud and clear. I hate the deep ones. No satisfaction with a good ol' pop! Nope. You dig and dig and it gets redder and redder and hurts like the dickins! Curses!

Isn't it amazing that we seem to get each of our parents "bad" traits :)

Ugh... I know exactly how you feel. Hailey is cursed. Billy and I both had/do have bad skin. Poor little thing.
