14 Days of Love: by Erica

Erica and I met in the flute section of our junior high school band. Neither one of us stuck it out with playing the flute for very long, but luckily our friendship has lasted longer than our musical skills. Erica is the genius behind {Erica's Bloggity Blog} and {Little Lovelies} etsy shop. Both are worth checking out. Oh! And she's a {crazy good photographer} too. The girl's got skills. She has a Veterinarian husband and 2 adorable girls and a baby boy bun in the oven. Her life couldn't be more awesome.

Here are 14 things that Erica loves:

1. forehead kisses from McVet. Though a kiss on the lips is always welcome, a forehead kiss makes me smile.

2. Snelgroves Burnt Almond Fudge ice cream. Sadly I haven't been able to find it here. I have, however, been able to consume my other favorite ice cream, Ben & Jerrys Half Baked more often than I should.

3. the lighting just before sunset - dusk.

4. local libraries. I'm a book worm and visit the library at least twice a week to pick up my latest reads that I put on hold.

5. Drive in movies. Lucky to have found one nearby. Who doesn't like watching a movie from the back of your car?

6. {latte bowls}. Best cereal bowl ever.

7.photography. I don't think a day can pass without me taking at least one picture. Love film - Fuji Instax and polaroid.

8.Playing {farkle} with McVet while watching a show on our DVR (there's always a show we need to watch on DVR). Currently we've been catching up on Planet Earth Extremes. Love it!

9.The beach. The smell, the sounds the sun....a perfect day would be spent at the beach with my little family.

10.Listening to my girls have deep conversations together about things such as Strawberry shortcake, belly buttons and why they are in fact a big kid.

11.Going out to eat. Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out.

12. Music. Playing music, singing music and listening to music. My days would be empty without music.

13.Culture. I want to be sure my children embrace and learn all they can about their own cultures and have a great love and respect for other cultures.

14.Loving and appreciating the fact that I can grow another human being. I admit that feeling the baby move sometimes creeps me out, and at times I feel like complaining, but being able to give birth to another human being is just beautiful and I'm thankful I can do that.

I totally forgot that you played flute, Erica! All the cool people play flute at some point in their lives. :)

Yes Ginna...cool girls play the flute :)

Thanks Megan for allowing me to participate. It was fun coming up with the list. It made me smile again reading it.

p.s. Do you remember the first song we played in concert? Aztec Sunrise...remember. I so enjoy watching that performance on our home videos....hahaha!

Erica - did Gin ever tell you? You remember those fish you left for Cam? Two of them died, but one lived for nearly three years. He became so big and strong and beautiful and joyous - he'd see us coming to feed him, and come right up to the edge of his water to greet us. Finally, he started leaping in the air, just for fun. And one day, leapt too far. We found him hours later, and it was devastating. Cam was on his mission, and the rest of us collapsed. It was on Father's Day, I think. We had a funeral for him, and he's buried in the back yard.

It was a big deal. And that's how I remember you - that happy fish.

What a great story! I'm so glad that a memory of me is associated with such a rad fish!

I can't believe it lived that long!
