Friday Favorites

Betsy and Mr. Kilpatrick
  • "Betsy" books. I read these when I was a kid and loved them dearly. I saw them at the library today and thought, "Oh, I need to collect those for Maggie." They've redone the covers to make them look "modern" but I want the vintage ones.
  • Chocolate milk from Costco.
  • {Tiffany} texted me the code "fiftyn2" to get 50% off sale items at {downeastbasics.com}. Hello new shirt, skirt, and DRESS! I haven't had new clothes in forever, so this is exciting.
  • {Flashback Friday} by Holli. I didn't know her growing up, but sometimes I think we must actually be the same person. Her teenage photos make me giggle so hard. Check out {this one}. It's probably the best picture on the whole internet.
  • Listening to Maggie's pretend scenarios she comes up with all the time (playing with forks at dinner, or conversations between crayons and colored pencils, or knocking on the kitchen cupboard, opening it and saying "Oh! Hi Grandma" and then "Oh! Hello, honey!")
  • Just thinking about cupcakes and planning my next excursion. By the way, I'm going {here}. Who's in? Comment if you wanna come.

I'll go on the cupcake date--or maybe I'll tend so you can go unhindered--and you could just bring me one.

Last year I started meal planning and grocery shopping for a month at a time. I was able to keep our groceries down to $200/mth for a family of 4. I was pretty proud of that. I'll be continuing that hte rest of my life! Good luck with your new system.

I love Holli's Flashback Fridays. Every time i see Flashback Friday it reminds me there's something I've been thinking I should comment to Holli, but it might sound weird... so I'll just say it here.

You see, when I was a kid, my sister Jennie would always go over to Holli's house to play and my dad and her dad drove to work together, so naturally I thought I should go over there and hang out with Holli's older brother Jake. I was obsessed with Jake, I mean he was so cool! He was a really good baseball player and he said that he wished he was black so he would be better at sports and he had a green Jeep Cherokee that was awesome.

There, I feel better now that I got that off my chest. Now I am closer to Jake's level of coolness cause we both have twins.

Me. I'm coming.
And I had about 12 things in my Downeast virtual shopping basket because I was so excited about their sale, but then I talked myself out of it. "There'll be more clothes next January when you aren't obese. Keep calm and carry on."

HA HA HA!!! That totally made my day! You and Dan rule! It makes me happy that somebody actually looks forward to Flashback Friday! Yay! And Dan, I am going to tell Jake how much you idolized him! You should have come over and hung out with him! He had to deal with me, what is another kid hanging around?!! BTW, that is so funny you remembered he wanted to be black so he would be better at sports! And speaking of Jennie, the picture I posted today actually included her. I cropped her out because I didn't want her to get mad at me if I posted her picture without her consent... besides, she was the cutest one in the picture BY FAR!

My parents just went to the Cocoa Bean (for my mom's birthday) and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! Have fun. And report. Just wish I could join you. (Maggie's pretend scenarios sound hysterical!)
