Welcome Home, Soldier!

Tonight I joined others in welcoming home our neighbor Scott Morris who has been away for a year serving our country in the Army. There were flags and yellow ribbons lining the road home, and 2 police cars, a fire truck, and an ambulance escort. It was quite exciting. But when I saw him pull into the neighborhood and his 6 kids running to him and the big hug they all shared I just stood on the curb and cried. What a sacrifice all of them had made. Everyone of them. From the 18 month old daughter who learned to walk without holding her daddy's hand, to the 15 year old son who took on the responsibility of being the man of the house, to the sweet mother who was such a brave single parent, to the man who left everything behind to provide freedom for our country and others'. It was just amazing. I'm crying now just thinking of it.

God bless America

this brought tears to my eyes! We have a neighbor that goes away too, and it makes my heart cry everytime I hear that he has to go! I feel so bad for the family, and I just can not get over how brave and strong his family are while he is gone! i dont know that I could ever do it....thank you soldiers!

How incredible to be a part of that. Everytime I see those reunions on the news I cry. What a sacrifice!
