Side-effects of Exercising

So, I've been unhappy with my weight. It was slowly peeling off after I had the boys, but then it stopped and appeared not to be budging despite my weak attempts at dieting and exercise. Finally I asked myself what Jillian Michaels would say if she were here.

And you know what she said to me (in my mind)? She picked me up, shoved me toward the exercise bike in the corner and said, "Megan. Get off the bleepity bleep couch."  [And when I imagined her she really said bleepity bleep instead of the expletives she normally uses. She must know I'm trying to clean up my language.]

It's been 1 and 1/2 weeks now that I've been biking my brains out daily and wouldn't you know it? I've lost 2 pounds. Doesn't sound like a lot, but for me lately it's huge.

The other benefit of me biking every day is that I work up a healthy sweat. Okay, that's not so much a benefit as a drawback. But whatever. In fact, today I got so stinky that after I wiffed my pits Maggie asked me "Mommy have poopie arms?" Yes. It smelled that bad.

Thanks pretend Jillian in my mind for kicking my butt into gear.

Go you! If you can get your hands on her 30 Day Shred dvd (I got it for like $8 on amazon.com) it will kick your trash. Seriously. I did it one day and wasn't moving without pain for days. And it's only a 20 minute workout! I personally can't do it daily, even though that's the idea, but even working it in gets some major calorie burning and strength training done.

Good job! Thanks for the good laugh - I guess I don't know who to thank- you for writing about it, or Maggie for saying that witty little comment! Anywho, it was dang funny! P.S. I like the new blog look!

Oh Man! I wish I had an exercise bike. I wanna work up a healthy sweat too. I want to find an exercise video, but am having a hard time deciding which one. I loved your post about your problem about what exercise video to get because some have annoying voices and it just doesn't motivate you to watch something you hate. I'm having the same dilemma. I'm slowly researching and finding info. Anyway, congratulations on the 2 pounds. Pretty soon it'll be like 10!

Whoo hoo!!! Doesn't that feel so good to lose that weight??? I've been trying so hard to do that too and just tone up a bit. I fluctuate far too much though...one day I'll be at a good (enough) weight and the next, I've put on two pounds again. Grrrr. But I'll keep kicking up my heels and running in the mornings. Keep up that pedaling, Megs!! I'm proud of you!

YAY! 2 Pounds! That is great...seriously, so great. I hate losing weight and feel like I am in a slump, and if I lose just 1 pound of just a few ounces in a week, then I am happy, cause it is really hard once you get to a certain point, so 2 pounds is GREAT!
