What a Treat!

Last night Dan had to run some errands. He went to the post office, the bank, and the grocery store. As he left he said, "I'll bring you back a treat!"

A treat? My mind was swimming with the possibilities.

Might he bring me a cupcake? an icee? frozen yogurt? I couldn't wait.

An hour and a half later he returned and said "I was going to buy you a pumpkin cookie because they were on sale, but they were sold out. So I got you a Lynn Wilson burrito. Potato flavored."

A frozen burrito. What a treat!?? I told him that it was a sweet gesture, but he could take it to work with him.

Sometimes I wish I could be in Dan's brain so that I could see the way it works.

LOL! Oh my goodness I am laughing with you on this one. How many times have I thought the same thing with Brian. I used to get irritated when Mother's Day, birthday's, Christmas, Anniversaries, etc. came around. I'd get all excited in anticipation and then....."thanks honey". Now, I look forward to what he is going to come up with this time! Cuz he really does put a lot of thought into his "gifts" and that is what makes it so funny!! He actually took the time to think about getting me "a frozen burrito"!

LOL! A frozen burrito for a treat!?!? Maybe he was thinking because it was cinco de Mayo and he wanted you to feel Mexican in your gorgeous blouse...

That's hilarious. I especially like that it wasn't a potato burrito, but a potato-FLAVORED burrito. Only the best!

I tried to read this to my husband but couldn't get the words out I was laughing so hard. A potato flavored burrito...who would've guessed that could be a "treat." Not I, said Mary. Haha.

I have come up with THREE possible scenarios:

1) he was probably still imagining you in that mexican blouse get-up and thought, "well, i know how she really loves her Mexican food! I know! i'll get her one of these!"

2)
PA: Attention all [store] guests. The store will be closing in 5 minutes. Please bring all purchases to the register.

Dan's Brain: Doh! Five minutes? That is not possibly enough time to find my lovely wife a treat! [looks down]. Why looky here! A Burrito! And not just any burrito will do for my lovely wife! This is a Top-Of-The-Line Lynn Wilson Burrito! Oh and looky here! It's potato flavored! Perfect! cuz with all that other Mexican Food we've been eating lately, I would hate for my lovely wife to get all gassy. Truly, when she sees this, she will know I was thinking of her! Oh boy! and it's only 98 cents!

3) Dan's Brain: I saw what she did to me on Facebook! This potato flavored burrito is the perfect "revenge"! after all - she is expecting a "treat"...bwahahahahaha!

potato FLAVORED? Like, strawberry flavored? Like they put in potato FLAVORING? I can see being stupid and blowing wild carbs on a cupcake. Even on a slurpee. But who would want to bust the bank for POTATOES?????

I think G's mind may have come from the same factory, though -
