Today {Vhari} and her girls came over to play. Mostly Vhari and I needed to play. Also, we like to see if our 2 year olds are ready to be friends yet.
It would seem that they are not ready.
Maggie chased Genevieve around the yard telling her to swing, then slide, then go into the playhouse. Gen didn't want to do any of those things. Gen found a puzzle to play with, but suddenly Maggie wanted to do that very puzzle, wrenching it out of Gen's hands. Later, Maggie wanted to hug Gen. Gen wasn't interested in being hugged. As much as I tried to convince Maggie to leave Genevieve alone, she just wasn't buying the fact that a human existed that wouldn't be bossed around.
Eventually exasperated little Genevieve said "I just want to go home."
And Maggie got right in her face and said in agreement "Gen, GO HOME. PLEASE!!"
Well, she may not be a very good friend but at least she said, "Please." Don't give up on us yet, Vhari. Eventually we'll learn to be nice. At least I really hope we will.

Oh Maggie will get it eventually. Don't worry. Maggie makes me laugh. She's such a doll. That picture is adorable with your 3 kiddos. I love it!
Just remember 2 year olds have no concept of sharing, and they also do not have the concept of what it means to play with another child. :)
we can just get Scoty and Maggie together, cause he has a hard time being nice too, we will lock them in a room and see who comes out on top...my bet it maggie, cause Scoty is a wimp! haha
Yeah, it's still too early to give up. Some kids just don't click (personality-wise) with others, but you can't really tell until they're older. Kids are possessed when they're 2-3. It'll work out.
lol! That is hilarious!!!
Honestly, haven't there been time when you would just love to say that to someone who had stayed too long--not that Genevieve had, Vhari. Bless both of their hearts. Friendship will bloom sometime down the road, and they will laugh that they didn't get along when they were two.
Oh, Maggie!!! Haha!
LOL!! I wish there were times I had the guts to nicely ask some people to leave too! ;-) Just kidding...no matter what, she is a doll!! I love the beautiful pictures of her and the hose in the last post. She is just darling...all three kids are! You are doing a great job!
Becca is very optimistic. Gin and her only same-age cousin never did get along, and they're pretty much strangers now - completely different bio rhythms - one a reader, one a runner and never shall the two occupy the same space at the same time without one of them being grossly uncomfortable. Get her a boy play-date. A boy a year older than she is. A boy who eats worms happily. I'm sure that would work.
