Lucky Day Giveaway!

You know those pay-it-forward blog giveaways that have been going around? Well, I passed on some REALLY good ones because I thought "how on earth would I possibly find time to make 3 of anything and then turn around and give them out?" Seriously, the thought made me want to cry. Even though I did want some stuff. Bad. And I thought it was a very friendly and lovely concept.

Anyway, the temptation was too great and I ended up signing up for Beth's, and then Nicole's. 6. That's six things.

And I've been worrying about it ever since. Until last night. I decided to just get it done. And boy howdy I did. So now I'm giving some beauties away. But no strings attached. You don't have to do a giveaway on your blog. It's my gift to you. So if you have zero crafting ability or too many children or no desire or what ever the case may be, it's okay. Enter. Tell your friends.

St. Patrick's Day is comin' so we're all feeling lucky. Here's what you can win:

I am giving away 3 "lucky" St. Patrick's Day banners. I made them using paper from my lovely sister in law Megan and groovy letters from Allsorts. Click on the links for those fabulous blogs. The banners have slight variations in paper and embellishments but they are all cute and dang hand made (with dang love).

Lovely earrings. Please note: I am a novice jewelry maker (i.e. I have no idea what I'm doing). But I think these turned out pretty cool. The pair on the left are made from wood beads with sterling silver. The center ones are made from gorgeous beads my amazing (PROFESSIONAL jewelry making) aunt Susan gave me (i.e. she does know what she's doing...but sadly she didn't make the earrings, I did). And the ones on the right are made from some funky plastic pebbles from a bracelet I bought that fell apart. They are way crazy, but I really love them.

The rules:

Leave a comment on this post by 11:59 pm Friday, March 13th telling me the luckiest thing that's ever happened to you.

{Leave an email or blog address so that I'll be able to reach you should you win.}

I'll randomly select and post the names of 6 winners on Saturday. Hopefully I'll get everything delivered or mailed on Saturday, but if you should get your winning gift after the 17th, I apologize--at least you'll have it for next year!

Please enter, don't be afraid. Even if I don't know you and you found my blog through your sister's aunt's cousin's brother's neighbor's monkey's blog list.

The luckiest thing that has ever happened to me was winning the 2001 April Bridal Fair Grand Prize (and getting engaged that night)...now that was cool.

Anyway, I already won something on Beth's blog (which I am still making the giveaway thing I am supossed to do) so even though I want those cool earrings...I am just writing on here to write!

Seriously though? Can we be best friends??!?!? When I move back to Utah (and I don't know how but I will!!!), I am totally being a obssesive and inviting myself along on all the cupcake dates, craft nights, earring making, and anything else that goes on with you guys. Would that be ok? Alright I am sounding like a stalker...I'll go now! ;-)
Have a great day!
Great job on the earrings by the way!

The luckiest thing that ever happened to me was my husband. I know it sounds super cheesy, and really if you had more time I'd tell you the story.

You are so super crafty! I'm jealous!

Hi, I'm new to your blog. Congrats on the beautiful family.

Okay, "luckiest" thing that's ever happened to me...My daughter surviving being born 12 weeks early. I know it was a lot more than just luck that helped our daughter make it through, but I can't think of anything luckier than having my own beautiful family!

Wow...the luckiest thing. I would have to say my kids. I don't know if it was "luck" but we feel so lucky--blessed really to have them become a part of our lives:) So they are my luckiest thing. LOVE your stuff...once again...your talents inspire!

P.S. Speaking of "Luckiest" have you heard the song "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds...love it...i know totally random:)

The luckiest? Oh gosh where do I start???

I'd have to say the luckiest thing that ever happened to me was years ago when I stole my sisters really funky cool alarm clock that had a puffy sticker on the front with googly eyes and I accidently dropped it in the outhouse (I grew up in MT, we had those things...) and getting away with it! She never found out and boy howdy was I glad cuz I was not going to admit to anything and go after it!

What if I don't believe in "luck?" I guess I do, but I just like to call it blessings/miracles instead.
How about being ran over by a tractor as a child, and almost ran over by the hay bailer that was being pulled by the tractor. Thankfully, or luckily, my uncle, who was driving, stopped the tractor within inches of me becoming Mr. Ed's next meal.
Or there was the time that I was crossing the street and my brother tackled me from behind into the ditch. I would have been mad except for the knowledge that a cement truck had been barreling down the road and just missed hitting us, and definately would have made road kill out of me had I not "luckily" been knocked into the ditch.
Then there is, of course, my wife. I am extremely "lucky" that she is with me. Truly I married above myself. (and she'd look really good in the earings!)
My family, my job, my awesome boss, the house I live in and how I got there, my friends, my family. Each and every one of these things in my life have been "lucky". Each one has a story behind it that many would sit back and think, "boy, he is lucky.", but I know that I am blessed and miracles truly happen.

It is obvious the luckiest thing that ever happened to me was Billy and Hailey, but I will tell another lucky time... in Jr. High they used to have drawings for prizes every now and then and I won a gift certificate to a music store and I got some AWESOME c.d.'s!! Good times, good times.

P.S. I am loving that lamp. I am considering a trip to the DI to find things to spray paint.

I have become a new blog stalker of yours...it's your Mom's fault! She keeps telling me how hillarious you are! I wonder where you got that from...

I used to think that I was pretty "unlucky"... I always end up in the WRONG checkout line, etc.
But I really liked the comment about blessings! Because, boy I got a lot of those!

The "lucky" thing that I can think of right now is the time when my baby(he was 2 at the time), Owen, fell out of the bonus room window onto the driveway. When I heard my other son screaming, I thought he was dead for sure! But as "luck" (aka fate, aka, divine providence!) would have it, not a thing was wrong with him--aside from bruising crawling up his ankles and not being able to walk for two weeks! I believe there were angels there that day! Definately a lucky day for me! Comes in second to winning over my man, of course! ;)

The luckiest thing that ever happened to me was when I went to a Jon Schmidt concert and won ALL of his CD's by entering a drawing. I seriously never win anything, so it was dang lucky! :)

Due to the fact that my kids sucked out all my brain cells when I had them, I can only really think back like a week or two if I am lucky! SO I will tell you the luckiest thing that happened to me a week or so ago. I had been busy cleaning, vacuuming, etc that day, then I was getting ready. I went to put on my wedding rings and the ctr ring that Shon gave me for Christmas...like 2 of my most prized possessions, and i could not find them. ANYWHERE! I was freaking...like crying...Shon wasnt really caring, he said, "it is just a ring" and I thinking..."yeah, the ring that symbolizes our love, the ring that YOU GAVE ME!" I was bugged. I was searching everywhere. I prayed, I searched and I could not find them. Finally I begged shon to take apart the bathroom sink to see if Scoty put them down there, he did, no they were not there (which i am kind glad, cause it is gross down there). Then I just sat there, crying for a minute, and then I remembered this:
While I was vacuuming I remember Scoty was following me around the house, putting things in the attachments that werent being used. I remember him doing it, but I forgot to clean it out...I just let him do it, he wasnt bugging me or his sister. I RAN FULL SPEED to the cleaning closet, picked up the first attachment, and WALA! There they were! SO LUCKY I AM!

My husband inherited his grandmother's wedding ring to give to his future spouse. Years later he met me and, lo and behold, the ring fit perfectly. That was pretty darn lucky if you ask me!

And your stuff is so cute! I can't believe you found time to make stuff that isn't dinner. You're fantastic!!

I'm friends with your cousin, Becca. I saw your blog on hers and decided to stop by. Anyway, the luckiest day of my life happened when I was only about 5 yrs. old. My family was shopping in a department store around Christmas time and my sister and I were looking at some gloves. I found an envelope and showed it to my sister. She opened it and said, "There's lots of money in here." We took it to my parents and I think it was around $200. No one ever claimed it at the lost and found, so my parents got to keep it. Might I add that they were super poor at the time, so this was a great blessing for our family. Pretty cool!

Okay, I am going to tell you my lucky thing, but as I am throwing away pretty much everything I've gathered in the last 30 years if a fit of - of - I don't know what, I'm going to ask that you give Ginna my extra number here because she loves you and she loves anything you touch and there you go. Or if Gin doesn't want that, the Tricarico family, because babies make me cry. Or anybody. Else.

When I was about nine, I went to a Saturday matinee at a huge movie theater which was full - no kiddin - of kids, and they had a drawing for shoe skates. And danged it I didn't have the winning number. First and last time I ever won anything. I was sitting in the back and went running down that long, long swooping aisle, and the man with the microphone said, "Here she comes - as if she had those skates on already."

I don't count that as a blessing. I count it as luck.

I'm actually quite lucky. But recently I won $250 on Arrow 103.5's double your paycheck (or a minimum of $250 if you are a low income earner) which happened to be the category I fell into. bummer I couldn't use my husbands paycheck and have them double that.
I reallywant the earrings.

I found your blog from Super Healthy Kids. The luckiest thing that has ever happened to me was...
When our first child was 16mo. old we decided to try and have another one. After 4 years of trying and infertility and BLAH, we felt like we needed to put papers in for an adoption. We only had our papers in for 3 months when we got the news that a baby boy was on his way. He was born on Dec. 14 and if that wasn't lucky enough it gets better. He was born in Idaho and because it was a different state than we lived in we had to wait for a lot of signatures and paperwork before we could take him home. It was getting way too close to Christmas and the paperwork wasn't looking good. We were sad that we would be stuck in Idaho in a hotel away from family over Christmas and who knew for how much longer. The day after we got the bad news we all had a bad night in the hotel and were so bummed. Then the phone rang. Our miracle worker case worker had made an insane amount of phone calls and pulled all kinds of strings and she said we could pack up and head home! We felt so LUCKY(blessed)

Hi Megan-

We were in the 8th ward together - about the time Maggie was born...

The luckiest thing that has ever happened to me is... meeting my future husband on St. Patrick's Day. He got my number with his green pen. Needless to say, we are big on St. Patty's Day!

Megs....wow the luckiest thing that ever happened to me....might be not getting killed when we hit those huge waves back in our "bouncing babe" days out on Grandma and Grandpa's boat, or maybe that we were safe and protected when the Van broke down on the side of the road in the middle of Nevada, or maybe that the blue darts didn't hurt us when we were camping on the beach...or maybe it's that we get to have birthday parties together almost every year....fun times....Love you Megs....I love it all...maybe one of the lucky signs!! They are all soooo cute!

Ok- I have no memory... I can't think of a specific thing that was real "luck." SO I just feel lucky because I have awesome in-laws! Especially my mother in law- she has taught me SO much that I refused to learn when my mama was living. All of Brad's siblings are AWESOME and Brad's dad is just the best. I am SO LUCKY!

Okay, I'll play.. (just wanted to say in case you hadn't noticed: your lucky giveaway ends on Friday the 13th! Hahaha! Did you do that on purpose?)

I had a 'lucky' day in college. All in one day I found $20 in some pants I had forgotten about, got asked out by the hottie in the ward that all the girls were drooling over, AND, last but not least, received a letter in the mail telling me that there were some grading errors in a class I had taken the previous semester and my B was changed to an A! It was actually kinda surreal to have so many things work out all at once!

Super way cute stuff!!! Love love love the earrings, novice whatever! Hmmm.... I guess I never really considered myself lucky, but after reading through some old journals yesterday, I'm dang lucky I ever had friends! and that I ever convinced Louis to marry me! Most recent luck: My wonderful hubby sent me an iPod shuffle as a surprise just because he loves me and knew I wanted one! And it's hot pink! Yea baby!

I found your blog from Super Healthy kids. Your blog caught my eye because my daughter was 2 when I had twin boys!!! Now she is 5 and they are 2 1/2! Hmmm....the luckiest (biggest blessing) thing that has ever happened to me would have to be my family!

No one's left a comment for today even though you're entry ends tonight? I found your blog through Mary Jane's, so I lurk occasionally.

Like everyone else, I've found some money, seen miracles performed, and my family is my greatest blessing ever, but here's a luck story on it's own.

Luckiest thing ever...My daughter lost a pair of earrings and necklace that I bought in Alaska on my honeymoon in her carseat. I mean we had to cut the thing apart to get them out. When the carnage was finished we got the necklace and only one earring. I was very sad and she got a new carseat. 2 months later while sweeping out the garage, I happened to look down and saw the other in the dirt pile.

BTW everything you made is cute

the luckiest thing that happened to me was.... on my honeymoon, me and my husband were coming back from park city to out hotel and started fishtailing on the ice roads, then it turned into a few donuts, then we flipped the car. the lucky thing is...We did not get hurt. very scared, but not hurt.
the car had some dents, but we survived a pretty scary accident.

i done found yer blog thru my uncle's cousin's cheatin' wife's handyman's lover... oh - and I'm my own grandpa! tee hee.

luckiest thing that ever happened to me... you mean other than winning a free sprite when I was 11? hmmm... i guess it would have to be being born to my mother. She is one of my heroes! i feel blessed to have her in my life, to have her example to show me the way (She had 7 kids in 8 years)! She is the calm to my storm most of the time. I keep reminding myself "If my mom could do it, so can i." And she is the one who taught me "I CAN DO HARD THINGS"!

Lucky? Yes, I am!
