- As per Rasmussen (my mother's family) tradition, sickness was brought to the Christmas Eve celebration. One by one family members are succumbing to the pukes. Not us yet. But both my folks, several cousins, an aunt, grandpa, and two uncles. But before we realized we were all ill we had a lovely dinner as well as the nativity marionette show.
- At the Hinckley home Christmas morning, Chelsea proposed drawing names for a gift exchange next year. Hallelujah for holiday simplification.
- With Dan's birthday on Christmas sometimes his celebration gets short-changed. So we started a chimichanga party tradition with his high school friends. Among the things we learned: Deep fried Twinkies are perhaps the most delightful things ever eaten. Ever. But thinking about their nutritional properties makes me want to hurl. We almost caught our deck on fire--watched pots never boil, but unwatched pots sure do burn.
- Maggie loved opening presents on Christmas so much that the next morning she said to her brother, "Cole, come on! Presents!" and headed for the stairs to do it all over again.
- We have a very generous family. From Aunt Kara and Uncle Dave and their outstanding Christmas party, to all 4 of Maggie's adorable grandparents and their holiday cooking and gift giving, we were spoiled, spoiled, spoiled.
- The adorable kitchen from Costco is wonderful. But Maggie may very soon find herself with no play food if she doesn't learn to stop dumping it out. That child....

OH man- my whole family got sick too. yuck=o. Glad YOU didn't get it at least!
I'm like Mags, I wanted to come open presents again the day after Christmas too!
I am SO sad I missed the party....dang it, but I dont know if my family will come very much, so dont worry, we will make it more often then not....and ummm...almost burned down your deck? Wow...we sure DID miss out, and twinkies? I am debating on whether or not I should tell Shon he missed out on that....hmmmm....Well, I am so glad you had a good Christmas, hope the sickness skipped you guys!
I love to hear what everyone did for the holidays:) Thanks for the update...glad you had fun and didn't get sick!
too funny! and i love the chimichanga thing...
I didn't know Dan's b-day is christmas, crazy! Tell the poor guy happy birthday from us.
Max woke up the day after christmas and came in to ask us if he was allowed in the living room to see what santa brought. Bringing him down from that optimistic viewpoint on the world was a little depressing.
Sounds like a great celebration... except the puking and the almost-burning deck. Glad you had a Merry Christmas! :)
Brennan's birthday is on Christmas too! He kind of sort of hates it...no matter how many times I tell him he's AWESOME cuz he and Jesus have the same birthday....he aint buyin' into it.
Take twinkies and roast them over a camp fire.......another unbeatable treat. Nummmm!
