Williams-ish Week

I was raised by school teachers who despite being incredibly busy during the school year, were blessed to be able to be home during all the holidays and summer vacation. I admit, I took it for granted that we could spend all of every day together. When my cousins would visit from great distances we would spend every waking moment together, begging our parents every night to let us have a sleep over as well. I hated to miss out on anything or waste any time together. 

Now that I'm grown up, I still hate to waste any time when family is in town. I made a schedule so that we would have some fun activities to do each day. Scheduling is something we Williamses are not so good at since we all like to be martyrs and we all hate to make decisions (except Beth and Dan). 

Here's what we did:

Saturday: We went to Jump On It (A warehouse in Lindon that is wall to wall trampolines. Courtney and I nearly wet our pants laughing. I was so terrible at it. What's so hard about jumping? I don't know, but I kept falling down) Then we ate pizza and watched the U vs. BYU game at my mom's. I won't say anything more about that, besides congratulations to Dan, the crazy lady, and all the drunkards in the MUSS. We'll see about next year.);

Sunday: After church we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Ras, enjoyed Mom's Fajitas, and swapped ornaments in the 3rd annual Williams Family Ornament Party. 

Monday: Beth,  Courtney, Mom, and I took all the kids to the Bean Museum at BYU (no, it is not a museum of legumes, it is full of dead animals...a taxidermist's dream). They did a reptile show for us. I'm hoping Beth will blog about the show cause there were some noteworthy moments and hilarious 1 liners. But I couldn't do it justice. Afterwards we enjoyed Taco Soup and Quesadilla's at our place and FHE with a lesson by Joel. Then Court, Beth, Mom, Willy, and I went to see Twilight. I very much enjoyed it. Sure it was a little cheesy and lacked some special effects, but it was great fun. I got pulled over afterwards--a warning to replace my headlight. Phew. 

Tuesday: Courtney and I took the twins to Rod Works, and The Porch in Springville (two of our favorite boutique stores).Then we took Mom and all the kids (we took turns sitting in the car with them) to Evan's Gatehouse (out of control cute stuff there--but out of my price range). Then we went to Savers which is very much in my price range.

Thursday: We ate the best food I've ever had in my whole life. Ever.I could have bathed myself in that gravy it was so good to my soul. Good news was, I wore my girdle that squished my stomach and kept me from eating TOO MUCH. I still ate too much, but not TOO MUCH. So that's nice.

Friday: We went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. It was very cool. My favorite part was the Jelly Fish room. Extremely relaxing to watch. Then we went to Tai Pan after. Then we had to say good bye to Courtney. I hated that. I wish she lived here.

Moral of the story: planning activities for out of town guests helped me fall in love again with my own town. And I still can't get enough of my family.
