Love

Elder Uchtdorf is an amazing man. A pilot. A polyglot. An apostle. Plus, I saw him in person 3 times shopping at Costco in Bountiful. So I guess we're personal friends. He always seems to be buying large quantities of produce (especially pineapple).

Last night at the women's meeting for my church he gave a wonderful talk. I was bawling in the first two minutes. It was what I needed to hear, and I came away feeling that I, as a woman, was my very worst critic. I felt peace, love, and for the first time in a long time, I felt proud of my accomplishments. I felt a desire to beautify the world. It was powerful.

So, if you missed it, or would like to hear it again, go here. I just might listen to it every day from now on.

(Wonder what the pineapple are for. There wasn't any pineapple in that toast recipe.)

Megan you blog is SO FUNNY!! NOt this post in paticular- but the last five I just read have me busting a gut! Well, not litterally, I don't want that to happen for at least a couple of weeks- but you know what I mean! Love the "personal friends" thing with Elder Uchtdorf! The products looked helpful to say the least and the "ishy" this is hilarious! My Paul is also obsessed with sweedish fish "sh" as he calls them! I definitely need to listed to the talk! I never know about these things when they happen for some reason... O-well thanks for keeping me updated!

Jen- the pineapple is probably for Harriet's curry...although the next time she makes it, it would be better with an additional bay leaf.

Now hold on a sec. I thought he was talking to me? How can he be talking to you if he were talking to me? Guess I'm not the only "my worst critic" out there..........

I totally agree, what an amazing man, and what a incredible talk that can relate to anyone and everyone! I felt like a better Mom, friend, saint, and all around person listening to his words.

P.s. Megs you are an amazing person....seriously where could you possibly be doing MORE?!? I get tired just reading your blog most days!

LOL --yeah, it must be for Harriet's curry dish. :)

I love him, too. That mix of intelligence and frank humanity - it's easy to feel that your Heavenly Father actually does love you in the presence of a man who seems to understand, with sweet humor - and share the difficulties of being alive with you.

I wish he'd come to our Sam's club. Sheesh. Two party system. Two big box store system. I'm tired of being on the wrong side of the wind.

Yeah, it was super amazing. So, when I come down to Bountiful next, will you take me to Costco and introduce me to your friend? :)
