Too Busy

Dan and I have been busy. We've been busy since we got married 3 years ago. We've always been commuting great distances. When we lived in Provo Dan had to drive to Salt Lake. When we lived in Lehi, Dan still commuted to the U, while I drove to BYU and Payson for my student teaching. Later we moved to Woods Cross. Dan started working in Bluffdale and I drove to Layton every day. We've never lived and worked in the same cities. We even lived 50 miles apart while we were engaged. We've been working, going to school, moving back and forth along the Wasatch Front, and trying to raise a busy little girl while we're baking twins.

But I hate it. I hate being busy. The thing I hate the most is when people think we're too busy. I don't want to be too busy to babysit somebody's kids, make somebody dinner, help somebody move, or paint somebody's house. I feel really bad when people don't give us a chance to serve because they know how busy we are.

So please, even though we're busy, don't think that we're too busy for you. Because we're not. Really.

Okay. come over on thursday, around six. you can eat my food but must provide all the entertainment: charming jokes, funny stories, physical improv comedy, and the like. and you might want to bring a little somethin-somethin for the birthday boy.

i have learned that there are times in our lives that we need to rely on others and then there are times others will rely on us. so...don't worry about being too busy. it will probably all come back to bite you in the butt eventually.

btw, you could probably buy a personal plane, get to work faster and spend about the same amount in fuel...

Emily, I taught at Mt. View Elementary in North East Layton. Loved it. Holli, since Billy was my hometeacher, I'll defer to him and let him make you dinner. Good luck Billy. Emily, if you would like to buy me a ticket to Reno then I will happily fold your laundry AND make you dinner AND vaccuum your living room AND sit around and laugh with you for 18 hours. Mel, I will. Beth, I'll come only if I can be the official birthday photographer. I know you really trust us now. And Emma, I'll share your plane idea with Dan. I'm sure he'll be a fan.
