Good Bye Sweet Grandpa!

Well, if your Grandpa went to high school and served in the ROTC with the prophet, don't be surprised if he comes to the funeral. I was surprised. No one else really was. With Dan's Grandpa Hinckley being President Hinckley's little brother and his Grandpa Lambert being President Monson's friend...he must think that having a prophet speak at a grandpa's funeral is common procedure. But to me it was very amazing. The funeral was exactly how Grandpa would have wanted it to be. Some hilarious stories were shared and we laughed a lot.

But my favorite part was when President Monson said "Hello, Blondie" and gave the Mags a high-five. Sweet.

All I can say is: woah.

Wow Megs I'm sorry that Dan's Grandpa passed away, but that's amazing, don't we all wish the prophet could speak at our funeral?!?! What an incredible experience. I love you Megs and you guys are in our prayers!!

So sorry to hear your grandpa has passed. But what a awesome blessing to hear the prophets words of comfort.

I hope you are all doing really well....and that the Maggster won't kill your twins. Ashlen had a 3 month date with jealousy when Lo arrived but she is quite well adjusted now. Well, with a few little kicks and squeezes here and there. :)

Sorry about Dan's grandpa, but that's so amazing that you guys got to see and hear the prophet at the funeral. Pres. Faust's brother was in our home ward back in the day and when he passed away, Pres. Faust and Monson came...My dad was the bishop and was completely terrified to conduct/run the funeral...just hoping he wouldn't mess anything up! As for the baby problem, I'd be happy to let you practice up with Christopher (especially in exchange for some Cheerios...great trade!), however distance may be a problem! Good luck!

President Monson is so fantastic. I've met him once, and it was at President Faust's brother's funeral as well (Angie and I being from the same neighborhood/ward). Sadly, all I can remember thinking about the experience was, while sitting in the choir seats, "so this is what the back of the general authorities' heads look like."

Heard about that this morning. We all thought it was cool - not Dan's grandpa going home, but the high five. Actually, in some very real ways, I envy Dan's grandpa. I'm really tired today.
