My lucky day!

Exactly three years ago, I drove up from Provo to hang out with my buddy Dawnell. Her sweet mother, whom I call Neeners, was scared to death that we were antisocial and would never get married. To help us little boy-shy returned missionaries she encouraged us to go to the stomp at the U of U institute. I don't think I've admitted this before, but I only went along with it because I wanted to see STOMP (you know those tap dancing guys who make music with garbage cans and brooms) I didn't know it was A stomp. Anyway, there I was, a lone Cougar in enemy territory, at a dance no less. Dawnell and I decided that we would pop inside, eat a brownie, and then take off so we could at least assure her mother that we were social creatures. One of my other mission companions was with us as well, Catherine Michelle Mihlfeith. So, we bopped on in according to plan, but not according to plan we met up with this:I later found out his name was Dan Hinckley. All I knew was: he was a big handsome boy with a really cute smile. And no, he wasn't dressed like a high school football player. I just find this picture extremely attractive. I won't make this post overly long. I'll cut to the life changing moment. Dawnell and Dan were chatting because they had been choir buddies in high school. Dawnell said "Hey, Dan, let me give you my number and we can hang out." At which point I said "Yeah, Dan, let me give you my number so we can hang out." Dan, bless his heart, actually took my number down (he was the first and only man in my life who ever did) and then the next day he actually did call me. I think it really must have helped that I impressed him with my karaoke skills after we ditched the lame stomp. Anyway, I'm just thankful for Neeners making us go to the dance, and for Dan giving a sarcastic and sassy girl a chance. November 5th is definitely my lucky day.

That's such a happy story Megs. I love hearing it. It's like your own personal romantic movie. You guys are so great together and so perfect for each other. I'm glad that both of you are my friends (well at least that's what facebook tells me). :)

That picture is seriously hunky. I had no idea that he was a sexy football player.
Cute story. It was fun to read it because I actually had no idea how youguys met.
And when I was reading the beginning of the story I was going to say to you that it was too bad it wasn't Stomp, because they're cool. But now that I see what came out of the stomp it's ok. Stomp certainly isn't cool enough to trade for an adorable husband.

That was so fun to read. Stew had me read it aloud to him while he studies. I remember when I met Dan for the first time I thought you guys really were so prefect for each other. I met my Lover Boy in Social Dance class but I couldn't tell you the date. However, every year we celebrate our first date anniversary (07-11-03) by going to 7-Eleven and getting a slurpee. :0)

Isn't it weird, the way these things happen? Ginna used to ask me, "How do people find each other?" Now Char asks me. Like I know. But I do know one thing - Neeners was 100% right - it's not by hanging out at home with your girlfriend.

Luck? Or obedience? Hmmmmmm. And I agree with the Ohio Rasses - he's lucky to have YOU>

A million thanks to Sister Groberg! We love our Daniel and it is true that you two are perfect for each other. And you're right about Dan's smile--it one of my favorite things about him. I love watching Dan with Maggie. They adore each other and I adore both of them.
