Some Good Things

Good ideas, friends, on my last post about how to get over the glummy glums. Thanks. Aunt Pam, I need to get my own personal copies of those suggested films because I grew up with them, but don't currently have them in my house. The situation must be remedied. Wonderful suggestion. And chocolate! Chocolate! yes.

After I blogged. I made {teriyaki meatballs} for dinner. And it was fast and really tasty. And Dan came home early-ish and helped me make it. And I didn't burn it or boil it over or ruin it in any way. That rookie cookie knows a good fast dish.

Then, I made these:

And we took them around to the neighbors, including the kids' Sunday School teachers. Will barked like a dog along the way while Coleman practiced saying Maggie's name ("Maaameeee" which is somehow different from "Mami" which is my name). And then I felt some better. The cupcakes are just cake mix with some peach pie filling (yummers) and the little bon bons are {this recipe}. Heaven. As we were delivering them I thought that it would have been fun to say "Love, the O'Hinckleys" instead of just "Love, the Hinckleys". Next year.

You are such an awesome neighbor. I wanna live by you :) You are amazing. You do it all! Maybe I will be like you when I grow up :)

can I be your neighbor? We suck. Didn't do a darn thing except pinch the poor fools that weren't wearing green. No special meal, no green toilet water, milk, or anything else. Oh well, I'll work on makin' Easter fabulous.

You're amazing. I didn't do squat for St. Pat's day. And I NEVER do squat for neighbors (well, except @ Christmas). Now that I think about it, though, doing cute things & doing nice things for somebody help me out of ruts, too. So I'm glad it helped you out of yours. Even though it was your idea and not mine. See?! You're amazing.

Wish I was a neighbor... I used to be!

I <3 your mom & dad. Think of them often - especially when my son talks about English assignments. I remember your dad having a Rush poem on the board. Still have that in my file...

Yep. There you go. Doing is the best cure when you are be-calmed. The only regret I have, reading this, is that you don't live down the street still, and thus feel no obligation whatsoever to BRING ME SOME BON BONS.

LOVE THOSE. what a great idea.
I want to copy. although, being out on the East coast, my neighbors would just look at me as if I were crazier than before.
(me and ALL my kids) :)
