Equal Opportunity

I love listening in when Maggie is playing with her toys. One of the toys always complains and cries and whines (basically, it sounds like Maggie) and another toy sounds exactly like me (saying things like, "Uh-oh. You haffa talk nice your mama.")  But now it's not just how she plays, it's what she plays with that has me busting a gut. She's no respecter of toys. If something can be carried, fiddled with, pretended with, used for an alternate purpose, or otherwise manipulated, Maggie will play with it.

Toys of choice for the day: silverware.
Real silverware= adults
plastic silverware=children.

Favorite runner up toys were a wet dish rag, memory cards, and an x-men comic book she insisted on checking out from the library ("Pease, mom! I want dis scary book. Pease?")

The silverware game is cracking me up. I LOVE to spy on my chillens while they are playing. I just read your interview. HA HA HA! Dude who DIDN'T have a crush on Dustin? Do you remember how he used to put lightening strikes on all of his papers with highlighters? And we called him "Lightening Man" and it made him REALLY mad?? Please tell me you remember. My crush was a three way tie: Dustin, Brian, and Mikey. Couldn't get enough. HA HA HA HA!

So, exactly how does one play "silverware"?

My nephew plays with silverware in the same way. I find myself becoming more obsessed with Maggie and her ways by the day!

Right on! My son's favorite toys for a while were my turkey baster and my vacuum attachment, the one for the edging, ya know? Yeah, he'd stick the baster in the vacuum attachment using it as a sheath for his sword. Even after I got him a few other really cool swords, he still has claimed my turkey baster, (never been better used) and occasionally asks for my vacuum attatchment, though I don't like to share at all.
