Tape Heals All Wounds

Today, my cheap blue plastic necklace fell prey to a tug-o-war between Maggie and her brother Coleman. As the beads flew in all directions I exclaimed, "Oh! My necklace! I'm so sad!" [I'm trying to teach Maggie that other people have feelings and not just her]

Maggie then looked me in the eyes and said "I sorry your necklace, Mom. But you get tape and you get tape!!" She motioned with her hands how the tape would fix everything!

"I don't think tape is going to work on this, Maggie."

"Oh. Sorry, Mom. And you get a Band-aid?"

"I have a feeling that Band-aids aren't going to work either." I said.

Then I remembered back to when I was 4 or 5 and I broke my red plastic headband. I was so upset about it and what made me more upset was that my mom refused to fix it with her glue gun. Sometimes a child's most helpful ideas just aren't helpful enough.

That is so cute! But don't you know "Mom's can fix anything!" Or in my case "Grandma's can fix anything." That's what Xander thinks. It's almost to the point, that if I can't fix it, I feel like I am disappointing him. LOL Such are the lessons of life.

oh I love your necklace, it was so cute, may it rest in peace. Maggie is so cute, I love their perception of how things work, Scoty too thinks a band-aid heals all wounds!
