Lovely Logan

Raising 3 children who are a mere 20 months apart is the hardest thing I have ever attempted. I can't even begin to describe the physical, spiritual, and psychological strain of it all. It is both deliciously wonderful and horribly heinous.

Some days I don't think I'll make it. I really don't. But then God sends me the will to wipe up another puddle of pureed peaches and change 3 more diapers and vacuum up the trails of fishy crackers and somehow make dinner. And somehow we've done it day after day. I'm continuously on the brink of tears.

When Dan said he had to go out of town for a conference overnight and he wanted me to go with him, I said no. No way was I going to take this freak show on the road. I had nightmares of me trying to entertain 3 children in a hotel room while Dan was off learning about soil drainage. But Dan was determined. So I told him if he could farm Maggie out, then I'd go. He asked his mother to take her. Then my mom volunteered to take baby Willy (who will rock a bottle--Cole refuses). Did you hear that? Our mothers each took a child for 24 hours.

Leaving me one baby to take to Logan. It was incredible. I went shopping. We went to dinner. We strolled downtown with a one child stroller. We went swimming. Only one of us held a baby at a time.

I returned home somewhat renewed--even if I was right back at the grindstone the next day. For a minute I got to remember the me behind the mom. The me needs a little work.

I'm glad you were able to go and actually enjoy yourself, that is always a definite need when your a mom. Being a mom is hard work sometime i feel your pain and i only have two! Let me know if i can do anything for you. We need to get together and go to the park one day when its nice weather.

I'M SO GLAD!!! I'm glad that you could do that! That renewal is so important yet so hard (okay, darn near impossible) to get!! I'm glad Dan insisted. :) By the way--I don't think the "you" "needs a little work." What you do every day would knock most people flat. You're amazing. This is definitely the hard part. It WILL get easier from here.

I'm sorry Megan! Tiff has been trying to get hold of you so we can come visiting teaching.

I will keep praying for you that life will get a bit easier! Hang in there, I know what it is like to cry everyday. Hugs!

Hey Megs. What an awesome weekend. I feel exactly the same way a lot of times, especially with the "who the heck am I now" and I only have two. Ah you really are wonder woman. I'm back and finally ready to hang. E-mail me.

You've a good man there and good mum's. I'm glad you were able to go. Every momma needs a break every once in awhile so she can remember what she is all about.

I'm glad you got a little break, however brief it was. That is NEEDED as a mother. Especially when you have three little ones who are so close in age. I honestly don't know how you do it. I would go nuts all the time. I have a hard enough time with three kids 6 and under. You're amazing, Megs. Remember that! :)

You are beautiful inside and out. I wish I could be a real part of your life and not just an out of town cousin-in-law who stalks your blog regularly so that I could babysit for you and try to learn some of your greatness. I just watched Marley & Me last night and I found it a little refreshing. Have you seen it? Anyways, I hope you know how very loved and amazing you are even to your out of town blog stalking cousin. :O) and Yay for you little break!

I'm so sad that I didn't get to see you guys!!! I would've even volunteered to watch Cole so you could've shopped alone! Next time, I guess.... I'm sure we'll still be in Logan.

The shot of Logan was stunning.

And that phrase: " . . .the me behind the mom," —a great piece of writing.

How fun! You definitely deserved the break! Too bad it wasn't longer! We are living in Provo now. I would love to get together and let our kids tear things apart together!
