Survival Mode

Sometimes I fee like my life merely consists of getting through the day. And then doing it again the next day. Repeat.

Is that horrible to admit?

My schedule:
Get up. Breakfast. Send Abe to school.
Lunch.
Make it through till 1 p.m. (naptime)
Dinner.
Make it through till 8 p.m. (bedtime)
Repeat.

On a larger scale, it's "make it through till Friday" (date night). Man, even when we end up taking the kids with us to get hamburgers, and then putting them to bed and watching a video (hey, that's like every week!), date night really saves my sanity. I think it's just for this very reason--it's something to look towards. Something to make it through TO. And the one day I _always_ shower. :)

Megs that seems to be the only way I am able to live my life.

So welcome to the survival club. Some days are better than others. But as a 5 year member, I hope its better for you!

Can we mix things up and bring dinner plus a serious dose of Christashmorg fun some night this week?

I totally totally feel that way. And like Marilyn I often have the day cut up into chunks I have to get through. I think it's just how life is sometimes. And we're in the middle of it!

Yo, this is Davey-poo-poo. I'm glad to see you still alive. We need to hang out sometime so I can meet the kiddos and catch up. We'll be in P-town from Feb. 12th to May 15th at least. You're awesome! Have a great summer! URKool!

We're all in the same boat. And I don't know about you, but sometimes I swear there's a hole in mine!

I used to survive from date night to date night. We had a set night and a babysitter (Shelee for a number of years) on retainer. You know, the funny thing is, it used to be against the code of womanhood to talk about these feelings.

Women were so isolated by that silence, suspecting they were the only ones who were lonely and desperate and tired and failing. In so many ways, the thing that's happening now, all of this real talk, is so much better (as long as it doesn't stop with mutual whining); you gotta know you aren't alone. that we all have gone through it - are going through it.

And if you didn't admit it in your charming way, some little girl reading your blog might give up on her life in despair, just knowing that you are perfect and dealing beautifully, when she is just barely making it through a day. Now, she knows that someone she loves and admires - somebody who makes her laugh - is JUST like her. Congrats - your horrible admission may have saved a life.

I'd think you were a freak on heroine if you didn't....and I'd want to snort something with you....cuz I feel that way A LOT!

No, that's definitely not horrible to admit. EVERYBODY does that. The important part is getting up again and doing it the next day.

Horrible??? More like normal...that just means your like everyone else. That's all we're doing is surviving, and helping each other along the way. Thanks for helping me survive! :)

I think we've all had moments like that.

Oh - and I forgot to give you (and your husband) a big Roll Tide! Still gotta be loyal even when we screw up a perfectly good season by losing to UTAH! Haha! ;)

Bless you, Meg. And then in that article you forwarded me from Ginna I realized I was probably guilty of inducing guilt (me: unknowingly) for you by making some shallow, baseless comment. So, I'm sorry for all those times in the past, and as insurance, sorry for all the times yet to come.

as you're in survival mode, you're also managing to entertain the masses (blog stalkers)
I found you SOMEHOW (i think through my sister in laws blog), long ago and have lurked and enjoyed your cute humor for months.
Keep on making it through the day, you sure do make having three under 3 look good!
