We just decided if we were gonna have one of them sick we might as well have the other as well. Even then it was laborious work. I always thought they ought to make some kind of enormous pad of plastic (like a pad of paper, only made from plastic) to put under high chairs for the whole phase you're about to enter--then you just rip off a sheet after every feeding/snack.
